st augustine beach entrance

St. Augustine is home to white quartz sand beaches and pristine shorelines along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. You'll find 42 miles of unobstructed beaches in St. Augustine, offering ample room to explore and feel secluded. Whether you're looking for a beach that's wide open and quiet or a spot with a bit more action and things to do, St. Augustine has something to offer. Here are a few of our favorite beaches in St. Augustine to visit during your stay at Camachee Inn.

Anastasia State Park

Anastasia State Park is a pristine, 1,600-acre park on Anastasia Island that features four miles of beaches. Enjoy white sand beaches where you can unwind and relax or even go kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and more. There are some facilities at this beach as well, including restrooms, showers, picnic tables and a pavilion, and a playground.

Butler Beach

Butler Beach is a small stretch of beach that never gets too crowded. Be mindful that some stretches of beach are private to condominium complexes in the area, but you can find access even if you're just visiting from Camachee Inn. Located about 8 miles south of downtown, Butler Beach is a great spot to visit to get away from the crowds of downtown without having to go very far.

Crescent Beach

Located along the southern stretch of St. Augustine, Crescent Beach is known for its beautiful sunsets and wide-open shoreline. Crescent Beach is just across the street from Matanzas River and is about 20 minutes from downtown St. Augustine. Come here for a quiet moment to unwind and relax.

Vilano Beach

As St. Augustine's northernmost beach, Vilano Beach is close to downtown but has limited public access so you don't have to worry about a ton of traffic. Beachcombing for shells is common here, so come in the early morning for your best chance at finding a good collection.

St. Augustine Beach

Home to the St. John's County Ocean Pier Park and located just outside of downtown St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach is the region's most popular. If you're looking for a convenient beach with nearby restaurants, this is the place to go. St. Augustine Beach also has playgrounds, beach volleyball courts, spots to fish, a splash park for kids, and more.
